Church of the Resurrection: Holy Week
Palm Sunday
- 8:30 am

- Raise a palm branch and shout “Hosanna” in a celebratory outdoor procession that mirrors Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.
- Please plan to arrive early and dress for the weather.
- Children’s worship for ages 0–5th grade. Parents, please check children into RezKids before the service begins.

- Accessibility note: The outdoor processional takes place on Union Avenue, which will be blocked from traffic and is accessible. Designated spots for wheelchairs are located at the end of certain aisles in the sanctuary. Children will likely dance through the aisles during worship time.
Maundy Thursday

- Remember Jesus’ command to “Love one another as I have loved you” through foot washing and Holy Communion.

- blessing of oil and water
- 4:00 pm
- Cathedrals commonly hold a service on Maundy Thursday in which holy oils and holy water are blessed by the bishop. In this short service, brief liturgies are prayed to bless the Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens, and the Oil of Chrism, which are then used in churches throughout the year. This service does not include a sermon, worship music, or Eucharist. Location: All Saints Prayer Chapel.

- Our Good Friday service testifies to how Jesus’ sacrifice can free and heal us. Enter into events of the crucifixion with a dramatic reading of the Passion. Worship with our musicians as you wait to approach our large wooden cross, where you may kneel and/or pray.
Childcare is available for ages 0 to 4 at 3pm only.

Holy Saturday

- Our journey begins in candlelight as the ancient Exsultet chant ushers us into the Old Testament story of salvation history, presented through theater and music.
- Doors open 30 minutes before the service begins. Please be sure to arrive early. Doors will close promptly at the beginning for the first part, “The Service of Light.” Doors will reopen in about 10 minutes, after this portion concludes.

- Wait and watch with the Church through the night of Holy Saturday with worship, Easter Vigil Scriptures, preaching, and extended time for prayer. No livestream or childcare.

Easter Sunday

- Our Holy Week journey concludes at this joyful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection! A continuation of the Vigil services begun the day before, our Easter morning services have identical liturgies. They include: the Acclamation that “Christ is Risen!”, the Holy Noise, baptisms, and the first Communion of Easter. Bring your own Easter bells to ring!
Children’s worship available for ages 0-Kindergarten at 10am only.
