Gulf Atlantic SYNOD 2026

The Annual Synod of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese will be held October 16–17 at Christchurch Anglican in Montgomery, AL. The theme for this year’s gathering is 2 Corinthians 13:11.

Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

This year we will focus on Healthy Communities, one of our Six Marks of Flourishing Churches. Registration is now open for clergy and lay delegates.

Synod is more than a business session. It is a coming-together of the entire Diocese to celebrate what God is doing among us, to reflect on our common mission, to be edified and equipped, and to be sent back out in fulfillment of our common call. The entire Diocese is invited—not just clergy and lay delegates. (Registration is required.) Attendees will be equipped to engage with conflict in churches Christianly, and given resources to help their church communities become and remain spiritually healthy places.

This year, we are being graciously hosted by parish of Christchurch in Montgomery, AL, and the schedule being drafted will accommodate the change in travel logistics.

All active clergy domiciled in the Gulf Atlantic  (“actively engaged in the parochial, missionary, or educational work of the Church, under the Ecclesiastical Authority of the Diocese”) are delegates to Synod. Any clergy unable to attend should request permission to be absent from Bishop Alex. All clergy are expected to vest and process at the Eucharist.
