Share Your Anglican Story via Rookie Anglican

Back in 2016, I started Rookie Anglican in order to help make Anglicanism more accessible to Anglicans and the “Angli-curious.” From the beginning, this has involved a couple different kinds of posts.

First, Rookie Anglican contains (what I hope are) helpful resources to learn more about Anglicanism.

You know, posts like the following:

Sacrifice AND Example: A Collect Reflection for the Third Sunday of Easter

The Third Sunday of Easter

Almighty God, you gave your only Son to be for us both a sacrifice for sin and an example of godly living: Give us the grace thankfully to receive this his inestimable benefit, and daily to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you […]

Anglican, for the Love of God – Emanuel Burke’s Anglican Journey

Early Days

The summers of my youth were spent in swimming pools, summer camps, and Southern Baptist “tent revivals.” I often felt pressured by those gatherings. There was always an expectation, though sometimes unspoken, to “make a decision,” or pray at the “altar,” or announce a “calling,” or say “just a few words” about your spiritual experience.

This spiritual climate persisted throughout […]

Here’s a Top-Secret, Experimental, Two-Year Version of the ACNA Daily Office Lectionary for Morning and/or Evening Prayer

As I explain in my guide to the Daily Office lectionary, a lectionary simply tells you what passages to read during a prayer/worship service. So, if you’re doing Morning or Evening Prayer, you use the Daily Office Lectionary to figure out what passages of Scripture you should read.

Christian, Do the Daily Office: 5 Things You Can Learn from Morning and Evening Prayer

The Problem: We All Need to Grow, But We’re Not Sure How

Let’s face it: to say the very least, we Christians all have room to grow when it comes to following Jesus.
