True North: The Campaign for Anglican Compass

By

Today we launch True North: The Campaign for Anglican Compass. Our goal is to hire a full-time managing editor and support our ongoing operation. To this end, the campaign has two parts:

  • To show the missionary impact of Anglican Compass
  • To raise funds in the missionary model of monthly giving

Missionary Impact

The opportunity in front of us is immense. 10,000 people visit Anglican Compass every week. In three months, we see as many unique visitors as there are members in the Anglican Church in North America. As a digital front porch, we are on the front lines of the modern mission field, sharing truth with a confused world, and pointing always to Christ.

Our missionary impact is more than a statistic. During this campaign, which runs through the end of the year, we will publish dozens of stories of individual lives and ministries that have been powerfully blessed by Anglican Compass.

Missionary Fundraising

We are raising funds on a missionary model of monthly giving. Our goal is $10,000 per month. We can get there with just 100 givers, each giving $100 per month. Or consider a monthly donation of $25 or $250, if your capacity is less or more. Click here to go to our Patreon.

A group of generous donors have offered a 10X matching grant for funds raised in this campaign. For every $1 in monthly giving, a one-time gift of $10 will be given to a new Anglican Compass fund to support strategic initiatives. If you give $100 / month, it will be matched with $1000 to our new Anglican Compass fund.

A Community of Navigators

We call our monthly supporters Navigators, because the Navigator maintains the Compass for the benefit of the whole ship. Similarly, by giving to Anglican Compass, you not only maintain the ministry, but also bless the whole church.

We focus on forming community with our Navigators, through direct communication and by curating Navigator Events, including Author Zoom Meetings. We look forward to getting to know each of you, and together empowering Anglican Compass in its ministry.

A Personal Story

Time for a true confession: for a long time I did not support Anglican Compass financially. I treated Anglican Compass as a mere website, like I do Wikipedia, using it and ignoring requests to give. My wife and I support a variety of ministries and missionary works, but we never thought to give to Anglican Compass.

We gave once we realized that Anglican Compass is more than a website. Anglican Compass is a ministry of Christ, a ministry that uses a website for vital missionary work. Viewed this way, Anglican Compass is categorized alongside foreign missionaries, campus ministries, and crisis pregnancy centers. It is worthy of our support, as a witness to Jesus Christ.

Final Thoughts

When a congregation has 100 visitors a week, it hires a full-time priest. Now that Anglican Compass has 10,000 visitors a week, it is past time to hire a full-time managing editor. Please support this ministry and help to advance our missionary work. I thank God for you and your considered support!

How to Give

We are collecting monthly support through Patreon. One-time donations may be made by check to Anglican Compass, and sent to our physical address: 3001 Verot School Road, Lafayette, LA 70508. For Foundations and Donor-Advised Funds: our legal name is “Anglican Compass Inc” and our EIN is 88-1383145. We are a registered 501c3 and all donations are tax-deductible.
